Brady is spoiled. Completely spoiled.
We were showered
twice this weekend. On top of getting several cute (and essential) items, we made a few runs to Babies R Us and Target to complete the "Brady Arrival Checklist." According to my calculations, Brady can arrive at any time and we should have all the "stuff" we need.
However, I am reminded that we can have all the "stuff" in the world and still not be ready for his arrival. Now this baby needs to be showered with prayer, and his parents as well!
My parents arrived on Thursday evening. Friday we took them on a tour of the Haven of Rest, and then the staff ladies threw us a luncheon shower. Everyone was so generous; we received several cute items, including our swing! My mom surprised me by presenting me with Brady's quilt. I was shocked that she had time to finish it since just a few weeks ago it was still in pieces! I think it turned out beautifully!

And to sample the cake!

After the shower, mom and I ran to a fabric shop to pick out the backing for the quilt. On the way home, we debated whether Dad and Jason would be playing Scrabble or taking a nap. Instead, they were...

laboring over the swing! I will spare you the details of putting this thing together...let's just say it was quite the job!
Saturday we took my parents to the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton. I couldn't resist posing in front of this display...

We thought it was funny that football players used to wear onesies...

Our shower at church took place after Sunday morning services. We have a small group but we always enjoy sweet fellowship! We received more adorable outfits (our Brady will be a sharp-dressed man), several packs of diapers (yeah!) and also our infant carrier/carseat. (Needless to say, I am thrilled about that!)

Favors

Our carseat from Teutonia - a brand I had never heard of before. But after some internet research and checking
this site, we learned it is quite the up and coming brand and is just starting to sell in the United States! And I love that it is brown - which is Brady's signature color! :) We received it from John and Karen Mizener. John works at Graco and knows all the ins and outs of the carseat business!

The cool base with kickstand - we aren't sure what the kickstand is for yet, but John is going to install it for us and teach all about it!

I have a few more pics but they will have to wait - we almost have Brady's "little room" ready so as soon as that is done, I will post pics of the room (you will see why it is called a "little room"!) and I'll also post a few other gifts we received from my parents and Jason's mom and stepdad.
We feel so fortunate to have such generous friends and are thankful for the many blessings we have received from our family and friends!
P.S. Please pray for me as Brady has decided to inflict me with
carpal tunnel syndrome. The pain in my fingers, hands, and arms is crazy right now and especially affects me at night, as I can hardly get any sleep. That means Jason can't get any sleep, because if I am going to be miserable than someone has to join me. (It also makes blogging a painful experience!) The pain has gotten significantly worse over this past week. The good thing is that pregnant women with this condition usually experience relief soon after the baby is born, but I'm not sure I can take two more months of it! Thanks for your prayers - and any treatment ideas are welcome!

Where did you get your bag in the going to church picture? I think my MIL sent me a diaper bag and purse just like it!!!!
Hi Jason & Angie -So nice to hear about your double blessings! How terrific that all these kind people gave beautiful gifts and presents to baby Brady (and you of course!)... Love to read your updates!
Nicki - I got that bag in Dubuque at Hohnecker's. It is a Vera Bradley. I almost got a diaper bag in that brand, too. I love the patterns!
And I haven't heard anything about Steph - as far as I know she is still "with child!"
Spoiled indeed! Everything looks wonderful - what an amazing "spread" and atmosphere and yummy goodies each place treated you with! So happy for you...
{ and I LOVE your brown dress!! - you look sooo good - want to pass it along for my last 6 weeks after you pop?!}

Oh, and I forgot to say ... your Mom's quilt turned out beautifully ...
... and you and I are going to be lifelong friends if chocolate brown is anyone's signature color!! You and me and both babies!
i am in love with that quilt! :)

I love looking at your updates and pictures! Sorry I don't comment as often as I should! Love all your new Brady treasures ... you really should buy a T. Brady jersey -- even if you don't like the pat's!! =)
Ange -beautiful shower gifts!!!!! You and Jason are so blessed!!! The quilt is GORGEOUS! I love the "Deco" swing -that's our favorite Graco pattern, but unfortunately we missed it when it was on sale and had to go with something else.
You are so much more organized than we are! :0) Happy 1 year anniversary today -I can't wait to see more pictures of Brady's first home.
Nothing going on...I'll keep you posted!
Love you!
What an honor to have my picture taken with the "MOTHER TO BE" and appear on your blog.
