Last night we received encouraging news from the doctor. As I said earlier, they didn't have to remove as much of the tongue as was previously expected. Since they didn't have to remove that much of the tongue the doctor felt it was best NOT to do a graft and introduce a foreign substance into the tongue. As a result, there is the possibility of some mild speech and swallowing complications. However, I've been with Ange off and on all day and it really is nothing noticable.
We also received good news on the lymph node. The doctor said there was nothing in the lymph nodes that just jumped out and screamed at him that it was cancer. He did say there were some areas of concern that needed to be biopsyed. We will receive the results in 7 to 10 days. This will help determine if radiation is needed.
Again I thank everyone for their prayers and support through this. We certainly thank and praise the Lord that He has chosen to act on our behalf. We praise Him for the successful surgery and report and we trust Him to continue to heal Angie as she recovers.

Fantastic news! This is so wonderful. I have enjoyed praying for Angie and I will continue to pray. I can't wait to share this news with so many praying for her. I thank God that I am part of a "family" that is worldwide. What a privilege to be a child of God and to be able to pray to Him for our sisters and brothers. Give Angie a hug for me!
How wonderful to hear such good news! Our prayers are still with you and your family.
Wow! We just found out about your cancer via the EFCAtlantic prayer chain! And we pray! And PRAISE God for His goodness!
I must confess that my mind went back to a dear friend of ours who was horribly burned by anhyrous ammonia. There were several days of 'will he make it?' He had four small children and was in the hospital an hour away for over a month. There was a college girl just home for break who was willing to 'nanny' those kids so that his wife could be at the hospital with him. THANKS, ANGIE, for your willingness to do that! I pray that there are those kinds of people in your life right now, too!
GOD IS FAITHFUL! One of my favorite verses is: "The angel of the Lord (pre-incarnate Jesus!) encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them." Ps. 34:7
Continuing to pray,
