Weekend Update

Much of our weekend was devoted to the excitement of the new house. Friday night we went carpet shopping and Saturday morning we signed our lives away at the mortgage office. We close officially on October 10 which gives us just under 20 days to get our act together. Packing...sigh...I don't even want to think about it. At least this time we will be packing for our home and not a tiny, overpriced apartment.

Saturday afternoon we watched the Cubs clinch the NL central. Brady was so excited, he screamed at the end of the game! Or maybe he was screaming because he was hungry and mommy was too busy watching the game.We went apple picking today at an orchard that belongs to our friend Stacy's family. We decided this would be a Hubbie tradition, although you can see from our pictures that the littlest Hubbie was less than impressed. It was fun and a beautiful day. This evening I channeled my inner earth mama and peeled and cored some of the apples for a batch of homemade applesauce. It is currently simmering away in the crock pot.

Don't act so excited, Brady.
Someone in this picture may have eaten more apples than he picked.
Stacy and her kids, Samuel and Rebecca (peeking over the seat).Brady and his apple picking sticker, "It's cool to be healthy"After 15 apples I barely made a dent in our stash. What else can I make besides apple butter?
Everything is better in the crock pot.

And here is our big boy in his cute overalls. He wouldn't look at me because the football game was on. Typical man!
P.S. Scroll down and watch Brady's new video for an extra dose of cutie-patootie!

Can you really make applesauce in a crock pot? You could make a fresh apple crisp, or an apple pie!!!!
