Our New Home

We placed an offer on this house in Firestone Park yesterday and found out this morning that our offer has been accepted! The seller even agreed to pay our closing costs. We are beyond excited and praising the Lord for such an amazing deal, and for a house that barely needs anything done to it. Want a short tour?

This is the view from the street. The house is on a corner lot and has a nice big yard on the side that you can't see. We won't have to do any landscaping. It is one block from a park with a playground and most importantly, a baseball field. The house has new siding, windows, and roof.
The back deck - big enough for our grill, that's all we really need!
Also in the back is a large driveway where Brady can ride his bike. (someday!)
The living room and the awful royal blue carpet that we are replacing before we move in. The living room is actually much bigger than it looks in the picture - actually all the rooms are bigger than they appear in the pictures! We will also be removing all the window treatments.
The kitchen that I am very pleased with! Short-term plans include taking down the wallpaper (ugh!) and long term plans include a stainless steel sink, replacing the vinyl floor with slate tile (Jason can do that himself!) and a new stove. Plus I am not a fan of the WHITE WHITE fridge but I can definitely live with it since it is new. I can live all of it, actually. It's all just cosmetic changes and we will wait for the cash before we make the changes.
Dining room. Another shot of the lovely carpet. Bye-bye carpet! Bye-bye curtains! Bye Bye light fixture from the 80's!
Bedrooms - they really look tinier than they are. Brady will probably get the smallest one, and the guest bedroom will also be my office. Carpet will be replaced in all three of them.
So there you have it! The Hubbie Starter Home. We recognize that we won't be able to live here forever, but for now it will be perfect as we grow our family (no, that is not an announcement, ha!). We are thrilled with this house - the Lord provided it, that is clear to us and we are so thankful.

Oh Angie ... congratulations!!
It's a lovely house (love the outside look of it, very appealing) and it will be that much more perfect once you replace the dark carpets and re-do the drapes and wallpaper. But you're right, just perfect for you Three!

You must be over the moon, this is such a big deal and I'm so happy that the deal went through for you.
(and great time to buy a house! - prices down??)

Yay, yay, yay, Angie and Jason and Brady!! Congratulations! It will be so nice for your family to be able to spend so much time outside. Our daughter watches a quarter of the tv she did when we lived in our stupid little apartment.

I'm so happy for you!

When is "OPEN HOUSE?"

Maybe we can exchange carpet. Blue is my favorite color. Hope Brady likes the new house, too. He won't have to sleep in a closet any more.

Congrats, guys! It looks really nice!! I love the kitchen cupboards, especially, and also the dining room chairs. (kidding on the chairs) I know you will love having your own place again to decorate and that Brady will finally get bumped up from a closet! =)
